LA GRANDE, Ore. (EOU) - The Eastern Oregon University Chamber Choir will perform in concert Friday and Saturday, Jan. 30-31 at 7:30 p.m. in McKenzie Theatre in Loso Hall.
Entitled, "Destinations: A World in Motion," the concert will incorporate the creativity of guest choralographer Yvonne Farrow of Los Angeles.
Farrow will arrive at EOU on Jan. 19 to begin working with the Chamber Choir on the art of choralography. Choralography can be defined as movement for choral groups, whereby the singers - who are not dancers - perform movement on or off the choral risers.
Farrow is not only a choralogapher, but also a dancer, actress and model. She specializes in choreographing works specifically for classically trained choral groups whose singers are not dancers. Farrow is also a partner in a production company, Twinbiz, with her twin sister Yvette Heyliger.
Advance tickets are on sale at Sunflower Books, the EOU Bookstore and any remaining tickets will be sold at the door. Prices are $8 for adults and $6 for EOU students and seniors. For group ticket information call Peter Wordelman, Chamber Choir conductor, at (541) 962-3352.
